Mary L. Brown Lewis, 72, a native of Terrebonne and resident of Gibson, La., died at 12:35 p.m. Friday, June 20.

She is survived by two sons, David Lewis and wife, Elisia, of Gray, La., and Gregory and wife, Pearla, of Houma, La.; three daughters, Gail M. Lewis, Lorre L. Campbell and husband, Larry, of Houma and Lorraine L. Velasquez and husband, Henry, of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Theodore P. Brown Jr. of Gibson and Donald Brown of Corona, Ca.; three sisters, Irma L. Volter of New Orleans, La., Louella B. Ray of Gibson and Betty B. Gaither of Houma; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Jr.; her parents, Theodore P. Brown Sr. and Bertha Rollins Brown; one sister, Lori Ann Lewis; and her grandparents, Jordan and Louise Rollins.

She was retired employee of Terrebonne General Medical Center and a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Community Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
