Mary Lee Nixon Small, 62, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Schriever, La., died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006.

Visitation will be from 9 to funeral time at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Schriever, La. with burial at the church cemetery.


She is survived by her husband, Mr. Thomas Joseph Commodores Small, Sr. of Schriever; 4 daughters, Wendy Shelby and husband, Charles, Mona Smith and husband, Wallace, Krischell “Tack” Small, all of Schriever, and Roxanne Starks and husband, Alfred, of Labadeville, La.; one son, T.J. Joseph Small, Sr. of Schriever; two sisters, Ethel Mae Woods and Minerva Nixon of Houma; two brothers, Leroy Nixon, Sr. of Houma and Daniel Nixon, Sr. of New Orleans, La.; 21 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Melkia Nixon, Sr. and Albertha A. Nixon; one son, Thomas Joseph Small, Jr.; three brothers, Melkia Nixon, Jr., Willie Nixon, Sr., and Allen Nixon, Sr., and one sister, Edna Nixon Ingram.

She was a member of Progressive and First Baptist Church.

She served as an Usher at Progressive Baptist Church.

She enjoyed Fishing and Gardening.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
