Mavis “Bobby” Orgeron, 76, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Sunday, August 3.


He is survived by his wife, Bella Duplantis Orgeron; sons, Lee Orgeron and Joseph Orgeron; daughter, Ann Brunet; sisters, Gloria Cannatella and Peggy Cheramie; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Charpentier Orgeron; parents, Juan Orgeron and Lillia Kieff Orgeron; brother, Herman Orgeron; and sister, Dolores Boudreaux;


He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow.

Donations in Memory of Mavis Orgeron can be made to the Lafourche Parish Library at 16241 E. Main St. in Cut Off, La.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
