Maybelle LeCompte Cancienne, 72, a native of Chauvin, La., and a resident of Labadieville, La., died at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, August 13.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alvin Cancienne of Labadieville; one son, Samuel Cancienne and wife Connie of Labadieville; three daughters, Charlene Senn and husband Michael of Thibodaux, La., Melanie Zeringue and husband Dwayne of Thibodaux, and Lynette Ponvelle and husband Preston of Labadieville; two granddaughters, Heather and Ashley Zeringue; two grandsons, Shaun Cancienne and Casey Ponvelle; one brother, Ronald LeCompte of Chauvin; and one sister, Marietta Ray of Raleigh/Durham, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney LeCompte and Estelle LeBoeuf LeCompte; one sister, Miriam LeCompte; and three brothers, William, Melvin and Renee LeCompte.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Labadieville with mass to follow at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
