Melanie Louise McElroy Pellegrin, 67, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 5:50 a.m.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Francis Pellegrin Jr.; mother, Roberta Dorsey McElroy; sons, Bryan (Jamie), Bruce (Stacey) and Brad (Jennie) Pellegrin; daughter, Chari (Jimmy) Langlois; sisters, Norma (Bill) Theriot, Mary (Peter) Matherne, Liz LeBlanc, Julie (Donnie) Braud and Annette (George) Fournier; two brothers, Fay Jr. (Patricia) and Danny McElroy; and eight grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her father, Fay McElroy Sr.; and sister, Alice Marie McElroy.


She was a 1960 graduate of St. Francis de Sales School, a 25 year employee of South Louisiana Bank, and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was devoted to supporting the MacDonell Methodist Children’s Center and the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.

A private burial will be at a later date.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
