Melvin “Mike” Richard Sr., 74, a native and resident of Napoleonville, LA., died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Breaux Richard; five sons, Melvin “Mel” Jr. and wife, Cindy, Scot, Chep and wife, Kathy, Douglas Richard and Troy Landry Sr. and wife, Celeste; three daughters, Peggy Lopez and husband, Ricky, Jill LeBlanc and husband, Brayton, and Sandra Giroir and husband, Russell “Rusty”; two brothers, Lindsey and wife, Evelyn, and Kenneth and wife, Cindy; four sisters, Anna Mae Simoneaux and husband, Ike, Geneva Landry, Rita Bollotte and Evelyn Guillot; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Algier Richard and Ida Cedotal Richard; one brother, Ervin Richard; and three brothers-in-law, Jerry Guillot, L.J. Bollotte and James Landry.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
