Melvyn Paul Baudoin, 77, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.


Mr. Baudoin was a longtime businessman in Lafourche Parish who dealt in office supplies, weekly newspapers, job printing, art materials and picture-framing. He was a part-time jazz trombonist and vocalist, bilingual plantation tour guide, storyteller and songwriter. He was a member of various civic and cultural organizations in Lafourche Parish, including Thibodaux Playhouse, Thibodaux Music Club and Raceland Lions Club.

Mr. Baudoin is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha “Marty” Ayo; son, Dominic (Trish) Baudoin; daughters, Angela (Brett) Moreaux, Susie Rogers and Deborah (Katherine) Baudoin; stepdaughters, Heidi (Allen) Bergeron and Marti (Kevin) Wills; stepson, James Banos; brothers, Teddy (Mary Teresa) Baudoin, Kearnie (Diette) Baudoin and Conrad (Claribel) Baudoin; sister, Miriam (Bud) Hartman; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
