Downed economy, cold makes hard job tougher

January 15, 2010Mercedes L. Baudoin, 101, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 12:50 p.m.
She is survived by her son, Earl A. (Marie) Baudoin; daughters, Mercedes (Ralph) Buisson and Barbara Matherne; half-sisters, Velma Brunet and Elaine Bourgeois; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl P. Baudoin; parents, Gracian and Celeste Luquette; and son-in-law, Vincent Matherne.
She was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Hilary Catholic Church with the funeral service to follow. She will be buried at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
