Mercedes Murray, 73, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, July 17.
She is survived by three daughters, Wilma Keller, Eyenetter Hackett and Gordia Murray, all of Thibodaux; four sons, Vincent Murray of Houma, La., Otis Murray and Paul Murray of Thibodaux and Bertrand Murray of Schriever, La.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Evelina Murray; three sisters, Gordia Mae Carter, Dora Murray and Odessa Price Lee; and two great-grandchildren, La’niya McDowell and Ja’Laya McDowell.
She was Baptist. Her hobbies included reading and talking on the telephone.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
