Merell Stewart, 26, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died …, March .., 2010.
Ms. Stewart served in the U.S. Air Force and was studying nursing at Louisiana Technical College in Morgan City, La. She was an in-home caretaker for the elderly and attended Beacon Light Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents, Tammy Stewart and Morris Coleman; sons, Makai Stewart and Corey Galmore; brother, Morris Michael Carter; sister, Shakilla Mykia George; and grandparents, William and Barbara McKinley, Joseph “Diamond Joe” Maryland, and Morris and Thelma Coleman.
She was predeceased by her grandmother, Doris Maryland; great-grandparents, Rosie Burns and Shelby Johnson, Rosie Johnson, and Freddie Sr. and Martha Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at Mechanicville Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She will be buried at Mechanicville Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
