Local troops brace for life away from home
January 6, 2010Merrit Mingo, 54, a resident of Morgan City, La., and a native of Lafayette, La., died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at 5 p.m., at his residence.
Mr. Mingo is survived by; his fiance’, Joanna Wallace; stepson, Jeremy Blackburn; daughter, Erica Blackburn; stepdaughters; Cherime Blackburn, Tikiwia, Ya’Kendra and Precious Wallace; and brothers, Leo, Russell, Mike and Larry Mingo.
He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
