Meryl Catherine “Cathy” Melancon Lafleur, 79, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.
Mrs. Lafleur was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She was a retired secretary of Broadmoor Elementary School and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Stephen Lafleur; sons, Michael (Kari), Kenneth and James (Frankie) Lafleur; sister, Elaine (Carroll) Roger; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Florence Melancon; and son, Stephen Lafleur Jr.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Maria Immacolata Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
