Michel Nicholas Dardar, 82, a native of Isle de Jean Charles, La., and resident of Montegut, La., died Thursday, April 28, 2011.


Mr. Dardar was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where he served many years as an extraordinary minister, lector and commentator. He was a veteran of the Korean War, with the U.S. Army who saw active duty, a member of KC Council 8616, the Cursillo Movement, the American Legion Post 272, VFW and St. Charles the Roch Kateri Circle. He loved being home with his family.


He is survived by his children, Mildred (Al) Naquin, Mary (Perry) Payton, Cheryl (Joseph) Boquet and Thomas (Rebecca) Dardar; 17 grandchildren, Niki Smith, Al “Mikey”, Alexis and Eric “Bud” Naquin, Seumr Thomas, Devin and Kevin Fitch, Jessica Molinere, Nicholas, Daniel and Melissa Payton, Angelica LeBoeuf, Macy and Joey Boquet, and Jena, Gabe and Alex Dardar; 10 great-grandchildren, Coby and Dawson Molinere, Emma and Lillian Smith, Josie Thomas, Briley and Blaikley Naquin, Bracken Thomas, Abby Gaudet, and Carson LeBoeuf; and sister, Rita Falgout.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Naquin Dardar; parents, Thomas and Eve Naquin Dardar; four brothers, Henry, Augustine, Vincent and Etienne Dardar; and sisters, Jeanne Billiot and Alexine Dardar.

He is buried at Bisland Cemetery. (Chauvin)
