Mildred Robichaux Pellegrin Simoneaux, 89, a native of Montegut, La. and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2006.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Montegut Fire Station and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


She is survived by her husband, Roy J. Simoneaux of Chauvin; two daughters, Johanna Pellegrin Chmiel of Montegut and Linda Pellegrin Porche and husband, Jerry, of Chauvin; two stepsons, Michael Simoneaux of Baton Rouge, La. and Wayne Simoneaux of Pierre Port, La.; one stepdaughter, Jo Beth Fredric of Prairieville, La.; two sisters, Betarice Robichaux Colwort and Sue Robichaux Barker of Houma, La.; six grandchildren, Alexsandra Chmiel, Kataryna Chmiel, Christine Pellegrin Waldrip and husband, Scott, Duane Pellegrin and wife, Winnie Wurzlow Pellegrin, Brent Pellegrin and wife, Nara Nettleton Pellegrin, and Billy Joe Pellegrin and wife, Mitzi Gautreaux Pellegrin; seven great-grandchildren, Mark Waldrip, Stephanie, Tyler, Jamie Lynn, Brandon, Mallory and Cole Pellegrin; nine step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Royal J. Pellegrin; her parents, Aurelie Martin Robichaux and Alice Josephine Lapeyrouse Robichaux; one son, Willis “Billy” Noel Pellegrin; one stepson, Dale Simoneaux; and two grandchildren, Mark Pellegrin and Maria Pellegrin.

She was a homemaker. She drove a school bus during World War II and worked as a deputy registrar of voters for Terrebonne Parish, La., and an assistant to medical record librarian for Terrebonne General Hospital.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a charter member of Theresians Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters, a member of the Montegut Ladies Altar Society, Deanery Council of Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux and of Stewardship Committee.

She was the recipient of special papal award and belonged to many other community-service organizations. She was an officer of the Terrebonne Livestock Association, board member of the Terrebonne Parish Tourist Commission, board member of the Terrebonne Association of Retarded Citizens, and support of the South Louisiana Orchestra Covenant House in New Orleans.
