Milton Short, 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Gibson, La., died Wednesday, December 31, 2008.


He is survived by his wife, Rosamary Short; daughters, Tanya Short of Gibson, Kena Reed of Gray, La., and Cherly Short of Houston, Tx.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Short and Evelina Davis Short; brothers, Cleveland Short, Jr. and Joseph Short III; and son-in-law, Gregory Reed.

He was a carpenter and who enjoyed fishing, hunting and dominos.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
