Modres Quatrevingt Degruise, 75, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Monday, August 20, 2007 at 2:40 a.m.


She is survived by her two sons, Blaine and Brian Degruise; one daughter, Charmain Caccioppi; one brother, Evence Quatrevingt; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Degruise, Jr.; her parents, Johnny and Lydie Martin Quatrevingt; and three brothers, Jules, Curtis, and E.J. Quatrevingt.


Modres was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church. She was past president of American Legion Post 349 Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 21, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 22, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, with the funeral to follow at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland. She will be buried in Mathern Cemetery in Bayou Blue, La.
