Mr. Minus Joseph Blanchard, 67, a native of Chauvin, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Oct. 31, at 5:50 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Schmidt Blanchard; daughters, Laura Lee Blanchard and Paula LeBlanc; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Martha Savoie and Hilda (Steve) Didier; and brother, Mannuel (Karen) Blanchard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Hilda Dumont Blanchard; daughter, Donna Blanchard Prince; sisters, Evelyn Blanchard and Hazel Acosta; and brother, Terry Blanchard.


He was retired from the oilfield business. He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was a 3rd degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Chauvin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
