Rainy harvest costly for Bayou Region’s sugar-cane farmers

Ms. Joyce Marie Thibodaux Marcel, 77, a native of Donner, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009.
She is survived by her children, Earline (Recardo) Chatagnier, Sandra Buquet, Nell Davis, Beverly Marcel and Cathy (Marc) Guidry; sisters, Heloise (Nolan) Dubois, Shirley Theriot, Loucille Chaisson, Barbara (Gerald) Breaux and Gail (Raymond) Legendre; brother, Walter (Shirley) Thibodaux Sr.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a very strong willed and good hearted woman. She loved playing bingo and going to casinos. She was loved and will be missed by many!
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with burial at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
