Nickerson Joseph Toups

Nickerson Joseph Toups, 86, a native of Galliano, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died Sunday, January 25, at 12:10 p.m.

He is survived by his daughter, Marylee Richardelle and husband Donald; grandchildren, Nicky Richardelle, Amy Danos and Travis Richardelle; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Richardelle, Brittney Richardelle, Laura Danos, Lisa Danos, Edvan Danos and Milan Richardelle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Orgeron Toups; parents, Pierre and Locda Duet Toups; granddaughter, Lisa Richardelle; brothers, Joseph, Jefferson, Manuel and Leo Toups; and sisters, Viola Lasseigne, Ozelia Vedros, Loretta Bourg and Eulaline Guidry Doucet.

He was Catholic and a World War II veteran.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off with mass to follow. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
