Corps of Engineers wins flood fight during Gustav

Noella Guidroz Kiffe, 75, a resident of Lockport, La., died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, August 30.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Joseph Kiffe; her parents, Edwin and Enola Rodriguez Guidroz; one son, Darcy Kiffe; two daughters, Debra K. Guidry and Janet K. Istre; one brother, Claude Guidroz; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
She was buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Larose, La.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
