Norman Joseph Authement, 83, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, June 9, 2014.
Mr. Authement was a businessman and was happiest when working on new business projects. His ventures included Norman’s Clothing Store, Norman’s Tuxedo Rentals and Maison de’ Couture fabric shop and Something Blue bridal. He enjoyed fishing and always knew where the hot spots were. His love for the outdoors and gardening kept the family in vegetables year round. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren – especially for Sunday dinners. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene Authement; children, Sue (Sammy) Pizzolato, Patti (Lynn) Bent, Robin (Jimmy) Lirette, Stephanie (Ricky) Rogers, David, Rick and Staci Authement and Martha Gilley; brothers, Douglas and John Authement; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius and Louise Authement; and sister, Barbara Bennett.
Interment is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
