Trivia players provide friendly benefits with competition

Oliver Smith Sr., 80, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011.
Mr. Smith was Baptist.
He is survived by his daughters, Althea Smith and Betty Celestine; sons, Oliver Jr. (Paula) and Jeffery (Desiree) Smith; brother, Elton (Maxine) Smith; sisters, Leomia (Gene) Shelby and Delores (Larry) Charles; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Smith; parents, Georgia and Ethel Smith; son, Mark Smith; brother, Wilbert Smith; and sister, Rutha Shelby.
Visitation will be 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Kennedy)
