Paulton Darby, 93, a native of Fairfax, La., and resident of Franklin, La., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.


He is survived by his wife, Lola Mae Darby; sons, Jerry, Terry (Jackie), Michael, Jerome (Monica), Craig and Joseph Darby; daughters, Jennie Darby, Alice (Anthony) Williams, Lola Mae Darby, Pauline (Charles Jr.) Watkins, Marsha Green, Linda (Don Sr.) Moreaux and Mable (Darrell) Wilbert; 29 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two godchildren, Faye D. Riley and Shirley Harris; sister-in-law, Sara B. Darby; his devoted caretaker, Veronica “Dell” Shaw; and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and many special friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond (Jennie) Darby; son, PFC Paul Darby; granddaughter, Prudence Monique Darby; seven sisters, Mary Lee, Shirley Brown, Daisy Stewart, Emma Gibson, Nelwyn Thomas, Corinthians Darby and Vivian Davis; and two brothers, John and Galton Darby.

He is buried at Franklin Cemetery.
