Ramona Comeaux Plaisance, 74, a native of New Iberia, La., and a resident of Valentine, La., died Tuesday, April 1, at 8:15 p.m.


She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Raymond Plaisance Sr.; sons, Carl J. Plaisance and wife Susie, Glenn J. Plaisance and wife Sandra, Raymond J. Plaisance Jr. and wife Nina, Robert J. Plaisance and wife Michelle and Chuck J. Plaisance and wife Liza; daughters, Brenda P. Punch and husband Henry Jr. and Stacy P. Brady and husband Toby; brother, Elton Comeaux; sisters, Clara C. Bergeron, Melba C. Loque, Janel C. Abshire and Virginia C. Ronsonet; grandchildren, Kim P. Matherne and husband Dwight, Jamie P. Staszak and husband Christopher Sr., Sara P. McCann and husband Jared, Tara Plaisance, Jeremy Punch and wife Maggie, Erin P. Vaughan and husband Brannon, Josh Punch and wife Katelyn, Marissa Plaisance, Shawn Plaisance, Ali Plaisance, Beau Brady, Amber Brady and Brett Brady; great-grandchildren, Marcus Matherne, Myles Matherne, Hannah Staszak, Christopher Staszak Jr., Ava McCann and Caleb Vaughan.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Eno and Sophie LeBlanc Comeaux; brothers, Maxie Comeaux and Kelly Comeaux; sisters, Anna Mae C. Lorraine, Leola C. Delahoussaye and Marlene C. Rials.

During her 74 years, Ramona touched many lives. She was a businesswoman, avid fisherwoman, gardener and enjoyed going to the casino. She will be especially be missed, and lovingly remembered, by those who called her wife, mom and mommom. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to memorial masses to be held at a later date.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
