Raymond Paul Fanguy Sr., 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010.


Mr. Fanguy was a retired bookkeeper for South Louisiana Electric Company and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.


He is survived by his sons, Randy, Rory, Eric, Douglas and David Fanguy; daughters, Deborah Ellender, Pamela Pitre, Elizabeth Trahan, Emily Elliott and Allison Fanguy; 29 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Mary Orgeron.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Marie Aycock Fanguy; parents, Clarence and Adele Evette Pellegrin Fanguy; one son, Raymond Paul Fanguy Jr.; and four brothers, Floyd, Andrew, Adley and Alma Fanguy.


The family wishes to thank the caregivers at The Suites of Sugar Mill Point and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their loving care.

He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No.2.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral, 500 Goode Street, Houma, Louisiana 70360.

Raymond Fanguy
