Raymond L. “Bigg” Washington Sr., 76, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Mr. Washington was a retired farm laborer.


He is survived by his daughters, Valerie Washington and Sandra and Charlette Williams; son, Kenneth Washington; sister, Delores Newell; brothers, Rev. Irvin (Audrey), Rev. Eugene (Donna), Rev. Gerald (Catherine), Ronald (Aldonia) and Michael Brown; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Washington and Catherine Brown; wife, Audrey Washington; and sons, Raymond Jr. and Joseph Washington.

Burial was at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery in Napoleonville. (Williams & Southall)
