Reginald “Reggie” A. Lirette Jr., 72, a native of Houma, La., died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011.

Mr. Lirette was a long time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church where he was a Lector, an Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist and a Knights of Columbus council member. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Kappa Alpha Fraternity, LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation and a former member the Krewe of Houmas. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted fan of the LSU Tiger football and baseball teams. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.


He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lirette; son, Keith (Andrea) Lirette; stepson, Justin (Kendra) Clements; daughters, Mollie (Ben) Borne, Pamela (Joe) Gyan and Lyndel (Jonathan) Ordoyne; father, Reginald Lirette Sr.; sister, Consuello Elfert; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Lirette; and brother, Keith Lirette.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday Aug. 5 at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Bayou Black with a funeral mass to follow. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery. (Chauvin)
