Reginald Abel Lirette Sr., 101, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.
Mr. Lirette was an active member of St. Francis Cathedral ushers and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina (Richard) Elfert; brothers, Elliot, Murray (Beverly) and Dale Lirette; sister, Shirley Thibodeaux; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lirette; parents, Alex and Edith Lirette; sons, Reginald Jr. and Keith Lirette; brothers, Conrad and Raymond Lirette; and sisters, Elizabeth Dawson and Marian Russell. (Chauvin)
