May 2, 2013Rene P. LeBlanc Sr., 81, a native and resident of Larose, La., died Monday, April 29, 2013.
Mr. LeBlanc served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. He was an educator, basketball coach, principal and school board supervisor for the Lafourche Parish School System. He was a founding member of the Larose Civic Center.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn LeBlanc; sons, Kenneth (Bonnie) and Rene Jr. (Susan) LeBlanc; daughters, Karen (Hassan) Pourbabaee and Adrienne (James Jr.) Guidry; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Avialas LeBlanc; brother, Wade LeBlanc; and sisters, Daisy Fanguy, Gladys Sampey, Mildred Allemand, Wildred Robichaux and Rowena Claudet.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
