Rennorh “Eye” Short Sr., 78, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Gibson, La., died Thursday, September 11.


He is survived by two sons, Harold Lee Short and Calvan Short and wife Mable; two daughters, Katherine Brown and husband Michael, and Leola Short; five brothers,

Sterling Short and wife Joan, Clarence Short Jr. and wife Lucille, Lee Andrew Short


Sr., Chester Short and wife Gerry Lee, and Bernard Calloway and wife Clardell; four sisters, Cedonia Chapman, Vella Stewart, Rose Waters and husband Calvin, and Lillie Mae Williams and husband Sidney; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Butler Short; his parents, Clarence and Leola Gray Short; two sons, Rennorh Short Jr. and Donnie Roy Short; two brothers, John Neal Short and LeRoy Short; two sisters, Lucille Sneeze and Yvonne Boykins; and his grandparents, Rebecca Owens and Moses Short and Henry Gray and Eliza Brown Gray.

He was retired and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, at Beulah Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
