January 18, 2010Rev. Willie Picou Sr., 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Picou; sons, Willie Jr., Julien Sr. and Tanagle Picou; daughter, Regina (John) Lee; brother, Wilton Picou Jr.; sisters, Fannie Picou and Rosa Williams; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Wilton Sr. and Mary Picou; and sisters, Lucille Williams and Betty McGuin.
He was an educator, minister, U.S. Army veteran and a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at New Rising Sun Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
