Richard ‘Ricky’ Arthur Breaux, 52, a native Benton, TX. And resident of Houma, La. died Saturday, November 10, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Ursula Marcello Breaux; his parents, Richard “Dick”, Phd. and Laurel Watkins Breaux; his son, Richard Christopher Breaux; his daughter, Natalie Breaux Rivera and her husband Todd; one brother, Walton Scott Breaux and his wife Kim; two sister, Susie Breaux Exnicious and her husband Philip and Laurel Breaux Foldse and her husband Dan; his wife’s parents, Ray and Gloria Marcello; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful pet companion Isabelle.


Richard was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Co-Cathedral in Houma. He was the past president of Terrebonne Bar Association, a member of Louisiana Bar Association Ethics Committee, Louisiana Bar Association, Terrebonne Parish Bar Association, E.D. Federal Bar Association, Fifth Circuit Federal Bar Association, a past member of the Houmas and Terrebonne Carnival Crews. He was a commentator at St. Francis de Sales. He was past Vandebilt Terrier Club President, a past member of St. Francis de Sales School Board, and a practicing trial attorney in Houma since 1981. He was a past board member of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of American Trial Lawyers. He was named to the top 50 football players at Vandebilt Catholic High School. He was past president of the Dixie Youth Baseball Association, he was a member of Italian Society, and a member of Ellender Country Club.

Visitation is Tuesday, November 13, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Francis de Sales Co-Cathedral. He will be buried in St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery in Houma.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic School or Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma or Children’s Hospital.
