Robert Cecil Templeton, 75, a native of Scott County, Va., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, April 6, 2014.


Mr. Templeton was a U.S. Air Force veteran and radar technician at Bibbins and Rice Electronics, Rice Electronics and SOLA Communications. After retirement he spent many hours volunteering at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Mary Byrd Perkins Cancer Center. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of others. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith Templeton; sons, Mark Damon, James (Rebecca) Martin and Chad (Angie) Gerard; daughter, Mary (Marcos) Silva; brother, James Templeton; sister, Billie Sue Quillen; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abram and Blanche Templeton; brothers, Walter, Joeseph, Everett, William, Charles, Marvin and Lonnie Templeton; and sisters, Vesta Vest, Mattie Templeton, Jamie Ball, Edna and Yvonne Miller.


Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
