Robert Anthony Dusse’, 71, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, La. died Sunday, October 28, 2007, at 6:05 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith Dusse’; three sons, Thomas Alan Dusse’ and his wife Bridget, Barry Robert Dusse’, and David Michael Dusse’ and his wife Marie; two brothers, Richard Charles Dusse’ and his wife Lena and Ronald Joseph Dusse’ and his wife Miriam; one granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Dusse’; and one grandson, Christopher Thomas Dusse’.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Albert and Irma Lucie Barillier Dusse’


Robert was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was a retired accountant.

After graduating from Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, he became a pilot in the United States Air Force. He then attended Loyola University in New Orleans where he graduated in 1960 and went to work in his parents business, Southern Pet Supply Co., until 1966. He then joined Sears and Roebuck in 1966, becoming the controller for the store in Houma. In 1981, he started his own accounting business. He was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux on December 20, 1980, serving as deacon at St. Bernadette Parish and chaplain at Sako’s Nursing Home. He was appointed deacon director for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux by Bishop Boudreaux, a position he held for 20 years.

Visitation is Friday, November 2, 2007, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He will be buried in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.
