Robert Elise Toms, 77, a native of Friendship and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, December 8.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Harper Toms of Houma; son, Michael Edwin Toms and wife Lynn Toms; daughter, Dianne Thomas; brothers, Wesley Toms, Jimmy Lane Toms, Larry Hughes Toms and Jerry Dale Toms; sisters, Serona Fay Plunkett, Mary Sue Blood, Agnes Eddieman and Dawn Eddieman; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Toms Jones, Jessica Ann Toms, Luke Toms, Sarah Teague and Jeremiah Redmond; and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Jones, Logan Jones, Arthur Glen Teague and Ellie Teague.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Westley Toms and Arva Elizabeth Caskey Toms; brothers, Revis Wayne Toms and Tommy Roy Toms; and sister, Rene Droddy.
He was a retired foreman with McDermott and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Christ Baptist Church, 1700 East Tunnel Blvd., Houma, La. 70363.
He was buried at Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery in Saline.
