BISCO director weighs in on ‘English only’ proposal

Roberta Mae Jackson Robertson, 75, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, July 9.
She is survived by five daughters, Betty, Evelyn, Dianne, Earline and Michelle Robertson all of Thibodaux; five sons, Clarence Jr., Edward, Herbert, Donald and Aaron Robertson all of Thibodaux; two brothers, Raymond Arcement of Las Vegas, Nv., and Jerry Arcement of Napoleonville, La.; 32 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Robertson Sr.; parents, George and Earline Arcement; two daughters, Delores Robertson Scott and Shelia Robertson Brown; and three brothers, Clarence “Candy Man” Arcement Sr., Freddie Arcement and Lloyd Arcement.
She was a member of Moses Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
