Rodney J. Rodrigue Sr., 83, a native and resident of Chackbay, La., died Thursday, March 13, 2014.
Mr. Rodrigue was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with his family and friends. He worked in the oilfield industry and also as a welder. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorita Rodrigue; daughters, Susan (Eddie) Martinez, Janet (Karl) Loupe, Kathy (Paul III) LaGraize, Laura (David) Verdun, Rhonda (Dedric) Rodrigue and Rita (William) Carrier; sisters, Lois Stoltz and Dianna (Jerry) Dempster; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Dale and Rodney Jr. Rodrigue; parents, Ozeme Sr. and Louise Rodrigue; sister, Adriel Blanco; and brother, Ozeme Rodrigue Jr.
Visitation will be 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Thibodaux)
