Roger Joseph Guillot, 83, a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Guillot served in the National Guard. He retired from Thibodaux Hospital after several years’ service. Mr. Guillot enjoyed tending to his yard and traveling. He was a past member of the VCH fire company, as well as a member of the Krewe of Christopher. He served as the krewe’s king in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bourgeois Guillot; daughters, Denise (Jeff) Knight; Lisa (Steve) Richard; four grandchildren, Jared (fiancée Sara LeBlanc) Knight, Tara (Reid) Jones, Jennifer (Kyle) Webre and Philip Richard; four great-grandchildren, Mason Davenport, Candace Knight and Drake and Morgan Webre.


Mr. Guillot was preceded in death by his parents, Celestin and Bertha Guillot; brothers, Gerald, Gilbert, Daniel, Francis and Dale Guillot; and sister, Gloria Guillot.

The family extends its thanks to the staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, Drs. Funk and David Patten and the entire staff of CIS, as well as Dr. Greg Chiasson.

Visitation is 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Catholic Church. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Catholic Church Cemetery.
