Roland H. Acosta Sr., 94, a native of Napoleonville, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011.
He is survived by his sons, Roland (Leahanne) and Mike (Garnet) Acosta; daughters, Sandra (Charles) Simoneaux and Jane Talbot; brother, Homer Acosta; sisters, Ruby Kreamer, Margie Hymel and Joan Daigle; four grandchildren, Torrie Haas, Seth Talbot, Frannie Lipari and Blake Acosta; three step-grandchildren, Ashlee, James and Elizabeth Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Rachael and Matthew Haas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Seely Acosta; parents, Clarence and Judith Bergeron Acosta; four brothers, Claude, Clarence, Carrol and Lynn Acosta; and two sisters, Mim Bernard and Ester Trosclair.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Lafourche Home for the Aged and Infirm.
He is buried at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. (Thibodaux)
