Roland “Juicy” Johnson, Sr., 79, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, December 29, 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Collins Johnson; four sons, Roland Johnson, Jr., Clarence J. Johnson, Curtis L. Johnson, and Christopher Johnson, Sr.; eight daughters, Louise J. Johnson, Linda J. Williams, Sarah A. Johnson, Cathy R. Johnson, Marcial A. Johnson, Gertrude P. Johnson, Therese M. Johnson, and Monique J. Morris; seven brothers, Raymond, Sr., Hubert, Sr., Issac, Jr., Leonard, Sr., Clifford, Welton, and Donald Johnson; two sisters, Delores Plaisance and Barbara Perio; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac, Sr., and Gertrude Pike Johnson; three sisters, Margie Bourgeois, Doris and Viola Johnson; and two grandchildren.


Roland was a devout Baptist.

His hobbies included watching football and taking care of his grandchildren.

He was buried in the Moses Baptist Church cemetery in Thibodaux.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
