Ronald Paul Blanchard, 71, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 10:32 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.


Mr. Blanchard was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a former member of Raceland Fire Department, Lafourche Roping Club, former president of Bayou Runners Association and a vendor of the Thibodaux and Lafourche Farmers Markets.

He is survived by his spouse, Gale Darcey Blanchard; daughter, Tammie (Andre’) Arcement; two grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Allen Jr.) Falgout; sisters-in-law, Ann (Carl) Eschete, Janice (Randy) Daigle, Judith (Rob) Seale, Enola (Steve) Nussmeyer; and brother-in-law, Glenn (Sandy) Darcey.

Burial is at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. Donations are appreciated to the Fallen Warriors or the American Cancer Association.
