Hurricane sends businessman packing

Ronald Joseph Toups, 67, a native and resident of Lockport, La, died at 5:15pm Tuesday, May 29, 2007.
He is survived his wife, Sandra Elder Toups; two daughters, Tammy Toups Chiasson, Lauren Toups and Fiancé’ Ross Robichaux; two brothers, Henry Toups and his wife Toni and Roland Toups and his wife Rita; one sister Anna Helen Falgout; and one grandchild, Alora Robichaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Benoit Toups and Anna Tourelle Toups; two brothers, Charles Toups and Whitney Toups; and one sister, Cecile Toups Detillier.
Ronald retired from Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 60 as a pipe fitter. He was a member of Lafourche Lodge #427 as a Master Mason who loved to hunt and fish. Ronald was a devoted husband, father, and Grandfather and will be sadly missed by friends and family.
He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Savoir Catholic Church in Lockport.
Falgout Funeral Home of Lockport is in charge of the arrangements.
