Rosalie Marie Gorman, 95, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.


She is survived by her son, John S. Gorman Jr.; daughter, Betty (Dan) Dial; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sherwood Gorman Sr.; parents, Nelson and Lorena Price; sisters, Lottie Shepherd and infant, Beulah; and brother, Lawrence Price.


She graduated valedictorian of the MCHS Class of 1931. In 1933 she was honored by being selected Miss Morgan City. She loved dancing, playing the piano, reading, sewing, embroidering and cooking.

A wake will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Twin City Funeral Home. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home with burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

Twin City Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
