Rosie “Nanae” Smith George Howard, 63, a native of Chauvin, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died Saturday, March 24, 2007.


Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Community Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in Southdown Cemetery.


She is survived by her first husband, Raymond George of Houma; her father, William Smith Jr. of Houma; one son, Ronnie George of Baton Rouge, LA.; one daughter, Karen George of Houma; two brothers, Russell Smith and William Smith of Anahvac, Texas; two sisters, Lou Ethel Terry and Hazel Evans, both of Baytown, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Adam Howard; her mother, Rosie Coleman Smith; one brother, John Smith; and her grandparents, William and Letha Melton Smith and Ollie Brooks Jones, Russell Coleman and Clarence Jones.

She was a retired C.N.A. and from Southdown Care Center.

She was Baptist.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
