Roussell Ruffin, 81, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.
He is survived by his daughter, Gail Ruffin-Bass; son, Evangelist Ronald Anthony (De’Shahn Dailey) Ruffin; brother, Sylvester “Bep” (Lillie Mae) Ruffin; sisters, Louise Madise, Lillian Randle and Irene Louis; three granddaughters, Jamika (John) Bass-Harris, and Ronshawna and Rochel Ruffin; one grandson, Jonathan Mack; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Morse-Ruffin; parents, Joe and Eva Ruffin; brothers, Arthur and Joseph Jr. Ruffin; sisters, Josephine Ruffin, Barbara Ann Welsh and Evelyn Wilson; and one son-in-law, George Bass Ruffin Jr.
He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
