Ruby Drain Hawkins, 76, a native of Mansfield, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, August 31.


She is survived by three daughters, Hazel Washington and Betty Van Buren of Thibodaux and Henrietta Parker of Lafayette, La.; three sisters, Ruth Parrot of Mansfield, Hazel Florence of Galveston, Tx. and Wynetta Parker of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hawkins Sr.; parents, Lucy Bell Hall and Rev Blackmon Hall; one son, Charles Hawkins Jr.; one daughter, Ethel B. Washington; two brothers, Ernest Drain Jr., and Willie James Drain; two sisters, Pearlie Haley and Missouri Haley; and one grandson.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included taking care of her cats.

She was buried at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
