Ruth Adams Chiasson, 71, a native of Chacahoula, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, September 3, 2007.
She is survived by her husband, Russel Chiasson; two sons, Perry Chiasson and his wife Marlene, and Kerry Chiasson and fiancée, Gwen Knight; two daughters, Carla Bourgeois and her husband Richard and Charlene Melvin and her husband Aaron; two sisters, Sylvia Dolese and Dorothy Guidry Broussard; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Jacob Bourgeois, Spc. Ryan Chiasson, and Christopher Chiasson; and two step-grandchildren, Andrew and Ellen Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Agnes Adams; and five brothers, N.J., Wilbert, Valcour, Calvin, and Earl Adams.
Ruth was a devout Catholic.
Visitation is Saturday, September 8, 2007, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. She will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
