Ruth Marie LeBlanc, 83, a native of Schriever, La., and a resident of Lockport, La., died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at 11:30 a.m.

She is survived by sons, Glenn James (fiancée Jackie Voss), Philip John (Marie), Bryan Anthony (Susan) and Wayne Gregory (Elsie) Leblanc; brother, Leroy LeBoeuf; sister, Lula Hayes and Beverly Lister; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Peter LeBlanc; parents, Alcide and Agnes B. LeBoeuf and Alex and Lilian B. Babin; brothers, Mitchell, Fred, Carroll, Leonce and Albert Babin; sisters, Ruby Lirette and Louella Breaux.


Mrs. LeBlanc was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of Bayou Blue Senior Citizens Club and the Kay Cee Ladies Auxiliary in Lockport.

She enjoyed going to the casinos and celebrating Mardi Gras and was an outstanding humanitarian in her community.

Visitation is set for Friday, Dec. 4, from 8 to 10 a.m., at Chauvin Funeral Home Inc.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m., at St. Gregory. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
