Samuel James, 81, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
He is survived by his sons, Willie, Jessie, Frank, Samuel, Floyd, Danny and Kerry Sims; daughters, Lois and Rita Sims and Ruby James; sister, Geraldine Williams; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozeline and Hattie James; wife, Rosie Galmore; former wife, Lillie James; son, Eric Sims; stepson, Gaylord Galmore; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at New Rising Sun Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Southdown Cemetery. (Jones)
