Sedrick Knight, 92, a native of Thibodaux, La. and resident of Raceland, La. died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at 10:15 a.m.

He is survived by his wife Neatie Sampey; stepson, Steve Plaisance and his wife Edna; one daughter, Belinda Billiot and her husband Allen; two brothers, Norman and Ashton Knight; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Marie Knight; four brothers, June, Jessie, Nolan, and Freddie Knight; and one sister, Irene Pitre.

Sedrick was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He was a loving husband to his wife Neatie for 32 years. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a retired carpenter.

Visitation is Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
